Finally

Progress. It only happens when you take risks. When you have so many minds and experiences working together with the freedom to explore. Throw your ideas on the floor and use them as lego pieces to build the castle of your dreams, or as bricks in the road you lay to a new adventure. We are going to be a team. Bring disciplines together, throw out the idea of rules and regulations. Give them freedom. Give them choice. It's messy. It's scary. It's beautiful. It's not what I thought it would be. It's better than I thought it could be.

Before

Before I would have read the "Essential Question" forty times, brainstormed, then read and taken notes, structured my response. Now, I want to free-write. Stream of consciousness wherever my brain goes. I don't want to give the "right" answer. I want to use technology to be freer. Not just fit technology into the box of learning. And I guess that's what this is really about. Moving from the creation of another generation of assembly line workers, to providing a safe space for young minds to create, develop, and experience. I want to challenge every norm that I have built my life around. Real life isn't perfect and structured- these kids are living in a world of unpredictability (that we learned today is defining their generation). They need to learn to use tools and resources to solve their own problems, help each other, make life and education their own. Source "Living and Learning with New Media Report"
